Horrific ecclesiastical positions of Pope Francis

Reactions
The Horror!

Of all the unthinkable candidates, Jorge Mario Bergoglio is perhaps the worst. Not because he openly professes doctrines against the faith and morals, but because, judging from his work as Archbishop of Buenos Aires, faith and moral seem to have been irrelevant to him.

A sworn enemy of the Traditional Mass, he has only allowed imitations of it in the hands of declared enemies of the ancient liturgy. He has persecuted every single priest who made an effort to wear a cassock, preach with firmness, or that was simply interested in Summorum Pontificum.

Famous for his inconsistency (at times, for the unintelligibility of his addresses and homilies), accustomed to the use of coarse, demagogical, and ambiguous expressions, it cannot be said that his magisterium is heterodox, but rather non-existent for how confusing it is.

His entourage in the Buenos Aires Curia, with the exception of a few clerics, has not been characterized by the virtue of their actions. Several are under grave suspicion of moral misbehavior.

He has not missed any occasion for holding acts in which he lent his Cathedral to Protestants, Muslims, Jews, and even to partisan groups in the name of an impossible and unnecessary interreligious dialogue. He is famous for his meetings with protestants in the Luna Park arena where, together with preacher of the Pontifical House, Raniero Cantalamessa, he was "blessed" by Protestant ministers, in a common act of worship in which he, in practice, accepted the validity of the "powers" of the TV-pastors.

This election is incomprehensible: he is not a polyglot, he has no Curial experience, he does not shine for his sanctity, he is loose in doctrine and liturgy, he has not fought against abortion or homosexual "marriage" [approved with practically no opposition from the episcopate], he has no manners to honor the Pontifical Throne. He has never fought for anything else than to remain in positions of power.

It really cannot be what Benedict wanted for the Church. And he does not seem to have any of the conditions required to continue his work.

May God help His Church. One can never dismiss, as humanly hard as it may seem, the possibility of a conversion... and, nonetheless, the future terrifies us.

Wink of Pope Benedict towards Pope Francis

Reactions
It was a wink. It is now more than clear. Before leaving the top of the Catholic Church, Benedict XVI made a gesture towards the Argentinian Jorge Mario Bergoglio. Before his resignation became effective, the then pope appointed the Archbishop of Buenos Aires as a member of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America (CAL). Soon after, the Cardinal and today top leader of the Catholic Church went to Rome for the Conclave that ended up choosing him.

The presence of the Argentines in the Vatican is maximized with Bergoglio. Although there are others like Cardinal Leonardo Sandri and Archbishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, as directors of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America and Archbishop Mario Antonio Cargnello, Archbishop of Salta, and Monsignor Hector Aguer, Archbishop of La Plata, as members of the CAL.

The Pontifical Commission for Latin America, part of the Congregation for Bishops, was established with the aim of studying in a unified way the reality of the Church in Latin America, promoting close cooperation with the departments, and to assist the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM).

The President of CAL is the prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, currently the Canadian Cardinal Marc Ouellet, one of those mentioned as candidates to succeed Benedict XVI. But it was the Argentine Bergoglio who he ended up winning. Joseph Ratzinger had given him a wink before leaving.

New Pope has no liturgical sense

Reactions

Is this the anti-Ratzinger Pope?

Reactions

"Whenever applause breaks out in the liturgy because of some human achievement, it is a sure sign that the essence of liturgy has totally disappeared and been replaced by a kind of religious entertainment." Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, The Spirit of the Liturgy, 198. As St. Pope Pius X said when he was received with applause upon entering St. Peter's Basilica: "It is not fitting to applaud the servant in the house of his Master."

New Pope- enemy of Catholic Tradition

Reactions
"I live in Buenos Aires. Bergoglio has destroyed the archdioceses, persecuting every single orthodox priest. He despises sacrality, and has de facto prohibited the application of Summorum Pontificum. He is an utter enemy of Tradition, ill-minded, almost maffiosi.

This has to be a severe chastisement from God to us all.

Liturgical decadence of many of the Cardinal Electors

Reactions

Will have all of them on the playlist by the end of today.  For quite a few earlier examples, click on the label below.  Some of the celebrations only underline the liturgical decadence of the modern Church.  An absolute priority for the new Pope to sort out.   So many liturgical experts, so little fine liturgy.

Cathcon- now half-completed, rest later on today.

Raids against extremist Muslims across Germany

Reactions
The security services have launched raids in several states against radical Islamic Salafists. Since the early morning, officers in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia have been deployed to carry out searches at twenty suspect locations, said the Interior Ministry in Berlin. The goal was the seizure of the assets of two banned associations, the Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich (CSU) stated this morning morning. The deployment of the officers is also intended to take down the association structures.

The association prohibition applies according to the Ministry of Information to the Salafist groups "DawaFFM" and "Islamic Audios". In addition, the group "An-Nussrah" was banned as part of the organization "Millatu Ibrahim" dissolved in June 2012 .

"Salafism, as it is represented by the now banned associations is incompatible with our liberal democratic order," said Friedrich. The banned groups sought "in aggressive-combative way to change in our society in which democracy will be replaced by a salafist system and the rule of law by the Sharia".

Already in the summer of 2012, Frederick had forbidden the Salafist group "Millatu Ibrahim" and initiated an investigation into "DawaFFM" . According to the Information Ministry, ample evidence has been gathered. In the investigation, "important insights were obtained into the anti-constitutional activities and well-planned approach of Salafist organizations in Germany", the ministry said.

The Conclave-Watcher’s Lexicon

Reactions

"The media and pundits, as well as churchmen, use a lot of jargon that many ordinary readers, unaccustomed to romanità, the carefully encoded diplomatic language used by the Vatican and its cadre of experts, will not be familiar with. A lot of the writing leading up to the conclave is about the “priorities” of the new pope. What should he do? This is where the issues start bumping up against both the jargon and the factions.

Since the cancellation last week of a series of press conferences organised by the Pontifical North American College, the cardinals have gone nearly silent. With one day left before the voting begins for a new pope, we have only the “experts” and pundits to guide our thoughts. Everyone is trying to piece together an overview of the situation, and the positions of the cardinals on an array of issues, a task that can prove daunting to those new to the Vatican-watching scene. "
