Just how much lay participation is required to run a parish

An enormous parish council in one parish. Cathcon is against parish councils as they amount to a pseudo-clericising of the laity in most cases. The joys of office without the sacrifice.

How come there are no Men?

Where are the MEN on this council?

Parish Councils are ridiculous as well as Liturgy Committees and EMHC and on and on.

The laity needs to be the laity and the priests need to start acting like priests.

We were on our newly formed LC for about 12 nano seconds. Both my husband and I are very well read on liturgy, but we soon saw that this was going to be some sort of "study group" for the rest of the members, who had never even heard of the GIRM, let alone any other documents.

Absolutely nothing was to be corrected or changed. No thank you...

OK - I can see I'm cranking up to a major rant....I must stop ;-)
