We have no King but Caesar

American election commentary

Now that the election is over, we can separate the real Catholics from those who just act the part. Those still reeling from the results of the election can rest assured that they are in good company with the saints. Those who have drawn a line in blood and made a decision to stand with the culture of death need a serious examination of conscience. Now look at what we’ve done to ourselves. America has made her “choice” for maximum leader and it is not pretty. In fact, it is one of the most devastating blows to American civilization that we have ever undergone, and I do not speak in hyperbole. Even such a saintly figure as Mother Theresa said that “a nation that kills its children has no future;” likewise, an authority like Fr. Benedict Groeschel recently commented that we have entered into “the beginning of the twilight” of our country—dire words that touch on the reality of electing the most extreme, pro-abortion candidate America has ever had the misfortune of occupying the highest office of our land.

Obama rather too close to a tyrant and one who thinks nothing of murdering Christians.

'Constitutional crisis' looming

over Obama's birth location.

Hitler came from Austria (obtaining German nationality in 1932), Stalin from Georgia, Napoleon from Corsica.

Mussolini was born right in the centre of Italy. Mussolini's father was a Marxist, his mother a devout Catholic.

General Franco's father was bourgeois, his mother minor aristocracy. General Franco was born in the far distant left corner of Spain, away from the centres of power.

General de Gaulle, was born right on the border with Belgium in Lille, into a traditional Catholic family, who were however open to progressive thought. He was educated by the Jesuits.

Winston Churchill was half-American.

Of course, none of this matters, unless you want to rise to power without leaving a trace, disclaiming any influence from your parents.

The next leader of Britain's Catholics

is tipped to be

Peter Smith, the Archbishop of Cardiff, is emerging as a strong candidate to succeed Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor when he retires in the new year.

According to sources in Rome, Archbishop Smith, 65, is being pushed for the key post by the Vatican’s ambassador in London, Archbishop Faustino Sainz Munoz, whose main role is to advise Pope Benedict XVI on appointments.

Archbishop Smith is believed to have the backing of Cardinal Murphy-O’Connor and has already impressed the Vatican by handling Church campaigns against abortion, euthanasia and gay adoption.

Insiders believe that he will top a secret shortlist of three or four to be submitted to Rome by the Spanish-born ambassador in the next few weeks. The ultimate decision rests with the Pope but the advice of Archbishop Munoz carries huge weight.

Feast of St Alfrick, Archbishop of Canterbury

Clearly, a hero and a saint but sadly forgotten now, even in his own land.

Archbishop of Canterbury who faced the Norse invasion of England. Alfrick was a monk in the Benedictine Abbey of Abingdon, England, noted for his holiness. He was appointed the bishop of Wilton, England, in 990, worked in the area, and was known for his charity. In 995 he became the archbishop of Canterbury and faced the devastating results of one of the invasions of England.

Prayer of Saint Gertrude the Great
Dictated by Our Lord, to release 1000 souls from purgatory each time it is said.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son Jesus Christ, in union with the most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, said throughout the world today, for all the holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family.

Obama is 'Aggressive, Disruptive and Apocalyptic'

says Vatican cardinal:

If 1968 was the year of America's 'suicide attempt,' 2008 is the year of America's exhaustion,' said Stafford, an American Cardinal and Major Penitentiary of the Apostolic Penitentiary for the Tribunal of the Holy See. 'In the intervening 40 years since Humanae Vitae, the United States has been thrown upon ruins.'

This destruction and America's decline is largely in part due to the Supreme Court's decisions in the life-issue cases of 1973, specifically Roe v. Wade. Stafford asserted these cases undermined respect for human life in the United States.

'Its scrupulous meanness has had catastrophic effects upon the unity and integrity of the American republic,' said Stafford.
