I was fortunate to visit this fine church, just before its closure. Having seen pictures of it after the vandals had done their worst was tragic; however, I'm glad that this trust has saved the building, albeit for a number of diverse uses. One thing to note in the banquet picture is the restoration of the great crucifix in the chancel arch. Our Lord may no longer be present sacramentally in this place, but the image of his love, hanging in that arch, will remind the building's visitors of His sacrifice of love.

What will happen to the great minor basilica in Miles Platting, Manchester? This too is due for the chop and it will deny the faithfull of Manchester access to yet another church with traditional teaching and worship. How very sad!
