Feast of the Transfiguration

Quicúmque Christum quæritis,
Oculos in altum tóllite :
Illic licébit visere
Signum perennis glóriæ.

Illustre quiddam cérnimus,
Quod nesciat finem pati,
Sublime, celsum, interminum,
Antiquius cælo et chao.

Hic ille Rex est Géntium
Pópulique Rex judaici,
Promissus Abrahæ patri
Ejusque in ævum sémini.

Hunc, et prophétis testibus
Iisdemque signatóribus,
Testator et Pater jubet
Audire nos et credere.

Jesu, tibi sit glória,
Qui te revelas párvulis,
Cum Patre, et almo Spíritu,
In sempitérna sæcula. Amen.

All ye who seek for Jesus,
raiseYour eyes above, and upward gaze:
There may ye see the wondrous sign
Of never-ending glory shine.

Behold him in celestial rays
Who never knoweth end of days;
Exalted, infinite, sublime;
Older than heaven or hell or time.

This is the Gentiles' King and Lord;
The Prince by Judah's race adored,
Promised to Abraham of yore,
And to his seed for evermore.

To him the prophets testify;
And that same witness, from on high,
The Father seals by his decree:
Hear and believe my Son, saith he.

Proper Doxology
All glory, Lord, to thee we pay,
Transfigured on the Mount today;
Whom with the Father we adore,
And Holy Ghost, for evermore. Amen.
